Compassionate Science
I believe I have the potential to make a change in this world whether it's for myself, someone else or everyone. Something I would like to change is the way people are seen in this world. Not everyone is seen the same, people are constantly judged for who they are and I believe that should change. Protests can be made for equality, justice or for whatever the cause may be. I think many take their lives and the lives of others for granted. Not many are compassionate about things, there's no feelings for others, most of the time no one cares for each other. There was one time my family and I were going to church Sunday night at around 7 o'clock and we had happened to see a small white poodle walking on the sidewalk. We knew immediately the dog would try to cross while cars were moving and sooner or later, it did. In my car, screams were so loud as if the whole block could hear us, we were desperate to get the dog out of the road. But then, this van came along, windows possibly 2 inches open, doesn't see the dog and from the blink of your eye it wasn't our screams you could hear but instead, the dogs. The vehicle stopped for a second, didn't hear anything and continued to drive as the tire rolled over on the dogs paw. The poor dog screaming, crying, hoping on 3 legs with the 4th squished and covered in blood. Immediately my brother in law got off the car tried to get the dog as it tried to run off, took it to the bus stop across the street and laid it down. We called "animal control," and waited for them to arrive, which in fact, NEVER SHOWED UP, just saying. Being a good samaritan, we went to the liquor in the corner and got a box to put the dog in. We drove to the shelter and dropped the dog off. They told us the dog was in good hands and they appreciated we had taken the dog before it was too late. In my opinion, there aren't many people who would do that, many would just leave the dog there and let it somehow cure itself which to me is cruel. People see shares on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, other social medias and never act upon it when in fact they should.
