Modern Times Review
Modern Times, in my opinion, is an interesting story with a good message. At the beginning we see a metaphor was used to compare people to a herd of sheep. The idea of the metaphor was to show the audience that looking for a job isn't always easy. Throughout the plot of the story Charlie Chaplin, known as "The Little Tramp," meets a girl known as "The Gammin" and imagines himself in a future with her. In the end, he gives a message that we should always smile, and goes off with 'The Gammin'. Modern Times allowed the audience to understand what it's like to work in the factories and be treated unequally or selfishly. We see Chaplin having muscle spasms because his arms are accustomed to the hard work with wrenches in the factory. Overall, the plot of the story was amazing and the fact that Chaplin created it himself makes it even better because it must've taken a lot of hard work.
