What Music Means To Me

Music to me means listening to something I can relate to, something that inspires me and allows me to connect with the songwriter as well. My interest in music is rare because I’m not the kind of person who listens to music every single day or have their earphones in their ear all the time. I listen to music when I hear it on the radio in the car or when it’s playing on the radio at home not necessarily every day. I listen to music often when it’s a song I heard and I thought was interesting and I would like to listen to its lyrics. To me the lyrics mean more than the actual song does. Some people just listen to songs because they “sound cool” or they’re “trending” but I think music should be something that’s heard from the heart and the time it took the artist to write it. Music is important, just not for everyone. I don’t find myself spending too much time listening to music; I think that I have more important things to do than just listen to music all day like some people like to do. If I have the chance I will if not then I can do it later.
Week of March 27, 2015

This week my group focused mainly on creating interviewing questions to present during our actual film time. We basically focused on open-ended questions in which we would be able to ask and get complete responses in return. Our topic for this film was 'the concept of love' the different perspectives of love whether its gender, age, race, how they met and so on. Basically, my group came up with the idea of interviewing the elderly, the middle aged, young teens, and a young child to get their perspectives on what love means to them and how it differentiates for each person. Throughout the week we have been searching for different genres of music to put as background music in our film when the time comes to edit. So far, one of our group members has done a practice interview of her parents to somewhat get an idea of their response. The following week we will focus on getting the main questions asked and the follow up question "what is love?" answered. Our group has been working hard to make this film just like we imagine it will happen and to have it prepared for the future film festival.

Most Important Person

To me, the most important person would be my mother because without her I wouldn't be where I am today. My mother inspires me to be successful in life. She has raised me to be successful and accomplish my goals. She taught me I'm not a quitter and to always go for the highest things in life. My mother to me is my inspiration, my strive, the reason for my success because my mother besides the fact she didn't have everything I do, she goes out of her way to give me what she can. She has taught me to be grateful for what I have and what I am given everyday. I can honestly say I am so blessed to have her in my life because although she can be strict, she always finds a way to be the "cool" type of mom. She is pretty "cool", but every since this whole "parents and texting" thing started trending, it's sort of strange to receive an "LOL" text from your MOTHER, but I have to admit, she's an awesome mom. Yes, sometimes I can be an ignorant teen and go against her, but I'm sure it's normal for every teen to act such way. I'm very appreciative of my mom because after all her struggles, she only wants what's best for me, and hopes that I can become the greatest in life. She's my aspiration in life, my role model, my everything, but most of all, she's the most important person in my life other than my father and siblings.
Problems & Struggles

There are some students at Bell High School who I'm sure are going through several problems and struggles each and everyday. Whether it's mentally, physically, emotionally, every student is human and have the right the go through these feelings.Students as young as middle school get involved in drugs, gangs, violence, self-harm, or feel as if they do not belong, they deal with daily judging and most of the time keep their feelings within. Some students get bullied because they look a certain way or even because they have a different sexuality. I believe everyone is human and no one should go through the pain of being judged and getting the thought that they are not wanted, for so long. Students should feel encouraged to speak to their counselors, parents, friends, or adults who will understand them and be willing to help them. Problems and struggles don't necessarily have to do with a physical, mental, or emotional state some may even be struggling in school such as studying for a test or trying to pass a class, these students seek help, tutoring, they ask questions, express their concerns and I believe that is what every student should do. There are several struggles a student goes through every single day and most of the time, others won't even know it but I personally highly encourage Bell High students and every other to seek help, ask questions and search for the answers because I am almost positive you'll find them.
